Teens/Adolescents
Adolescence is a time of rapid change. Teens are developing their identity, gaining independence, navigating friendships and relationships, managing academic pressure, and learning how to cope with increasingly complex emotions. Even capable and high-achieving adolescents can struggle with anxiety, depression, low self-esteem, family conflict, school stress, trauma, or difficulty regulating emotions.
At Inner Peace Counseling of Utah, our providers offer a supportive and nonjudgmental space where teens can talk openly, build trust, and develop practical coping skills. Therapy may help adolescents better understand their emotions, improve communication, strengthen confidence, manage stress, and make healthier decisions.
Our providers work with concerns such as:
-
Anxiety, depression, and mood changes
-
ADHD, impulsivity, and emotional regulation
-
School avoidance, academic pressure, and peer conflict
-
Trauma, grief, and major life transitions
-
Self-esteem, identity, and relationship concerns
-
Family conflict and communication difficulties
Treatment is individualized to each teen’s age, personality, needs, and goals. Depending on the situation, providers may use approaches such as cognitive behavioral therapy, dialectical behavior therapy skills, play or expressive interventions, EMDR, Accelerated Resolution Therapy, or family-based support.
Parents and caregivers are also important partners in the process. Our providers can help families improve communication, understand adolescent behavior, and create a healthier balance between support, structure, and growing independence.
Inner Peace Counseling of Utah provides adolescent counseling in Draper and Saratoga Springs, with telehealth appointments available throughout Utah.
