Liz is a licensed clinical social worker who specializes in everything trauma related. She believes in inner strength, resilience, and the possibility of finding deep, lasting healing from challenging life events and
circumstances. Liz is master trained in Accelerated Resolution Therapy which she has found to be highly effective at helping people resolve traumas, large and small. Liz earned her master’s degree in social
work at Boise State after many years spent raising her nine children. Liz has  experience counseling couples, teens and adults who face trauma, abuse, substance use, depression, anxiety, addiction, and
self-worth challenges. Liz is grateful every day for all stretching life experiences that result in greater growth, compassion, empathy and strength which allow for deeper connection with others. Liz is a firm
believer in the power of change and the limitless potential of all people. Liz is proficient in many modalities, including ART, DBT, CBT, Mindfulness, Motivational Interviewing, and couples therapy approaches of Emotional Focused Terapy (EFT), Gottman Method, and CBT for Couples.

Jessica, a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, holding  Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Social Work is also certified CBT TEAM Therapist, and EMDR Trained therapist.

 

Unique Approach to Therapy

Jessica was trained by renowned therapist, Dr. David Burns of Stanford University School of Medicine and is one of a handful of therapists in Utah who have been certified and practice his researched-based, effective treatment of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) TEAM Therapy. Jessica has been trained in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR). These models, combined with a supportive environment, provides intensive treatment of anxiety, depression, and trauma. 

Her past experience includes working in outpatient, residential, community mental health, school and hospital settings.

Heather is a clinician with robust experience helping individuals through crisis, overcoming unwanted behaviors and treatment of mental health issues. Her skills have aided her and her clients as she worked as a therapist to those in prison, as an advocate and aid to victims of crimes, as an emergency dispatcher, and as a clinician

Heather has worked professionally with children, teens and adults. She has served those with mental health needs in the prison, as well as worked with victims of crimes. Heather's warm approach empowers clients to look at what is occuring in their life, overcome trauma, develop new habits and improve relationships.

Cassi, a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, is a University of Texas at Austin alumni, who has been practicing in the field of counseling and social work for nearly 10 years.

Cassi's passion for what she does has led her to help others through crisis intervention, individual and group counseling. Cassi specializes in the treatment of anxiety disorders, depression, persistent mental illness, domestic violence and sexual abuse. She has vast experience helping individuals through the legal process after experiencing abuse. Cassi most often works with teens, adults, couples and families.

Cassi has been trained in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing Therapy allowing her to better aid her clients in the healing and change process.

Shantel graduated from Brigham Young University with a Bachelor’s degree in Social Work.  She received her Master’s degree in Social Work from the University of Utah. She has been working in the social work field since 2005; she has 7 years of professional experience in adoption.  Her work history consists of Primary Children’s Wasatch Canyons and LDS Family Services.

Shantel enjoys working with individuals of all ages, especially children and teens. She has worked with individuals on various issues including but not limited to: anxiety, OCD, depression, divorce, grief and loss, trauma, self-harm, and self-esteem issues.  She believes in being flexible and open-minded when selecting therapeutic interventions recognizing the uniqueness of the individual.

Prior to working with Inner Peace Counseling she has worked with teens in residential treatment and with various ages of individuals facing OCD, Anxiety and Trauma in an Intensive Outpatient setting. Tyler brings a warmth and wealth of knowledge to those she works with.

Specialized Training

Katie has over 10 years experience working with children, teens and their families in a state of the art, intensive mental health treatment facility. There she often taught Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) Skills, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) skills and communication skills.

In addition, Katie has provided life changing treatment in the outpatient and community clinic settings.  There she aided individuals who experienced a variety of traumatic life events, were victims of abuse, as well as suffering from other mental health issues such as anxiety, depression and thoughts of suicide. Katie's other specialties include Family Systems Therapy, Resiliency Training, Solution Focused Therapy, and Positive Psychology.

Andrea, holds a Master in Clinical Social Work from USU. Andrea has  experience working with children, teens, individuals and families, who have been victims of abuse. She has worked in the child welfare system for 8 years, advocating for families and individuals by connecting them with the resources available in the community, and helping them to reach their highest potential.

 

Andrea also has a Bachelor's degree in Psychology. She is passionate about helping individuals struggling with personality disorders, and mental health concerns in general. She believes in Positive Psychology and our inner power that can help us overcome difficulties in life. As the Family is the main institution in our society Andrea values helping families strengthen its connections with their family members, and learn new ways to improve communication.

Cori Lazarte, Marriage and Family Therapy Intern, has worked in the mental/behavioral health field for 7 years with state and private clinics and community organizations providing counseling, mentoring youth in foster/proctor care, aiding development as a behavioral interventionist, and managing mental health clinics.

 

Prior to pursuing a Master's in Marriage and Family Therapy at Abilene Christian University, Cori graduated from BYU with a Bachelor's degree in Family Studies. 

While Cori works with teens, adults, couples and families on various topics such as mental health treatment, developing stronger relationships and healthy attachments, she also has an extensive background in working with women and couples facing infertility struggles and going through IVF treatment, and experiencing grief and loss. She enjoys working with individuals, couples and families to find both hope and healing when they are faced with life's challenges.
