Grief and Loss
Grief can follow the death of a loved one, but it can also arise after divorce, infertility, pregnancy loss, illness, caregiving changes, job loss, estrangement, or another major life transition. There is no single “right” way to grieve. Some people feel intense sadness, while others experience anger, guilt, numbness, anxiety, exhaustion, or difficulty concentrating.
At Inner Peace Counseling of Utah, our providers offer compassionate, individualized support for children, adolescents, and adults navigating grief and loss. Therapy provides a private space to process emotions without pressure to move on, explain your grief, or follow a particular timeline.
Counseling may help clients:
-
Understand and express complicated emotions
-
Adjust to changes in roles, routines, and relationships
-
Manage guilt, regret, anger, or unanswered questions
-
Cope with anniversaries, holidays, and painful reminders
-
Support grieving children or family members
-
Maintain a meaningful connection to what was lost while continuing forward
Our providers tailor treatment to each client’s circumstances, culture, beliefs, and values. Depending on individual needs, providers may incorporate grief-focused counseling, trauma-informed care, EMDR, Accelerated Resolution Therapy, expressive activities, or family support.
You do not have to carry grief alone. Inner Peace Counseling of Utah offers counseling at our Draper and Saratoga Springs locations, with telehealth appointments available throughout Utah.
